"THE VIZARD OF FOG!"

So, the stores are officially "Halloweened." We absolutely LOVE it! This is the best time of year, hands down. What we are NOT loving is the 28 degree weather... in September. But that's a whole different post. OK, back to the "Halloweened" stuff ... this, of course, has brought some urgency with the kiddos: WHAT WILL THEY BE FOR HALLOWEEN?! Well, I am a sneaky mom (I think it's extreme BRILLIANCE) and have been telling my kids (for months now) what they want to be. That way, when Halloween time actually rolls around, they are convinced that yes, they do want to be a PIRATE (Ty) and SLEEPING BEAUTY (Hai). It has always worked; until this year. Little strong-willed Hailey decided that Sleeping Beauty was NOT the costume for her this year (gasp; she already has the dress!) She carried on and on (and on and on and on...) in Wal-Mart yesterday because she wants to be a WITCH for Halloween. And not just any witch... a witch from "THE VIZARD OF FOG!!!" (Got it?) Long story short -- she won (she always wins, doesn't she? ...bring on the mother-of-the-year comments) and we found her a witch costume -- one that looks nothing like the "THE VIZARD OF FOG" but appeased her none-the-less. And cute (clueless) Ty will still be a pirate in his clearance Wal-Mart woman's blouse and black sweat pants. Now you all can't wait for pictures... actually, neither can I :)

That's funny that you do that too, suggesting what the kiddies will be for Halloween. -Which is usually something the neighbor's kids were the year before. I can't wait for pictures.

Amy,
You're blog is very nice! How are you using it as a journal? Can you print it, or just archive it with google? Darling house and very nicely organized. It makes me inspired. And tell me about LemonLime Design. You design announcements and cards, I presume. Awesome! How is the organizing business going?

You can convince me what to be for Halloween anytime, I will gladly accept. Cannot wait for the pictures!

I am so sorry that Hailey has a mind of her own now. (Although she'll be a darling witch.) Halloween got so much less fun for me when I couldn't dress the girls in coordinating costumes I got on clearance. Now I just spend the months before Halloween planting great ideas about how we'll skip the whole trick-or-treating and have a big party in our family room with the porch light turned off so no one bugs us. Well, no takers yet---but I still have 6 weeks to go!

Hi Amy! I found your blog on Kimberlie's...kind of fun to keep track of the Muncie ward as we all move away and spread out.

Anyhow, I totally love the motherly "drop major hints about what your kids want to be for Halloween" bit. My mom did that with us as kids...she was even good at telling us what we wanted for Christmas. Good times.

And speaking of deciding on Halloween costumes, I've decided that my baby boy, Garrett, wants to be a carrot. Get it? Garrett the Carrot. I figure I'd better do it now before he's old enough to get made fun of, right?

Oh how I would love the 28 degree weather right now with this pregnancy!
