for today.

My heart is broken. We learned today that this little guy

right

down

here

has diabetes.

He will be admitted first thing tomorrow morning to Primary Children's Hospital where he will stay for 3 days. He will be "regulated" and we all need to be educated.

Tomorrow is a new day where we will look at this thing and say "bring it"

but for today

my heart is broken.

I'm so sorry, Amy! You should get in touch with Kelsey Ashment. Her son was recently diagnosed with diabetes, too. Thinking of you and your family!

Amy, I'm SO sorry! Good Luck at Primary Children's! I'm sure in the next few weeks you'll get more than enough info to sort though and learn, but you'll do it. My cousins son was diagnosed a little over a year ago when he was 1 1/2, If you want you can check out her blog when you get a min. http://texas-tall-tales.blogspot.com/ she's talked a lot about the whole process for them and learning about it all, and she's found a big network of helpful friends going through it too. Good Luck! You're in my prayers!

Amy-

My heart is broken for you too. I know what a punch to the gut this is. Our "day" was Sept. 1, 2010 and a year later we are doing much better. I'm here for you when you are ready and need to talk. Many prayers going out to you!

I am so, so sorry. I know EXACTLY how you feel. Primary Children's is an amazing place filled with people who genuinely care about kids. They are fantastic and will help you all to know what to expect and what to do. It is completely normal to grieve and be sad, but this can be an amazing experience for your whole family. Joseph's heart problems continue to bless us even while they sorrow us as well. We feel heaven's help so near and you will as well. Good luck to you all. Tyler's strength will blow you away, just wait and see! Our prayers are with you!!

My heart is breaking for you, too. We've been there. In the place of uncertainty, of grief, of anxiety, of hopelessness.

I know it sounds cliche, and probably not what you want to hear when your heart is breaking, but it WILL be okay. It will. You will be educated, it will become a part of him and your family, and soon it will be like there was not a time when you did not know.

Praying that you feel God's arms wrapped around you during your difficult time.

How sad! It's a blessing to have Primary so close because it's an incredibly children's hospital. Good luck to you!

Amy,
I'm so sorry that your little guy has to go through this. I am just reading this now, so you are probably done with your education stay at Primary Children's, but if you are up there again, keep an eye out for me. The good news is that things have gotten so much better for our little diabetics in the last 15 years...it will only continue to improve! You are in my thoughts!

Hi! I am Mandy W's mom and I just had to write a note. Mandy's sister Bri was diagnosed at age 11 with Juvenile diabetes. She took things in stride and did not let it stop her from living a full and active life. She got her degree from USU and went on for a Masters in Music at Michigan State. She sings opera and has never let diabetes keep her from going on stage (Sometimes she was eating everyone's candy bars before going on) and she now teaches at USU. She is 29 and just got married in the Logan Temple. She is looking forward to having a family. Diabetes complicates things, but your son can still live a full and wonderful life. Good luck to you all and God Bless!
