milestone.

tonight, for the first time EVER (and I really am being serious) Ty ate and swallowed a carrot. ok -- half a baby carrot. He is 7 years old.

The sad truth: this is the first vegetable that he has EVER swallowed (besides baby food.) Yep. Now before you judge me (you already did, DIDN'T YOU?!?!) please know that it has not been for lack of effort on our part or his. As many times as we have tried and tried and tried (and tried and tried and tried -- you get the point) -- he simply can't swallow them (fresh fruits either.) he gags and pukes. so you can imagine my absolute DELIGHT when he took a big bite out of the carrot -- chewed chewed chewed and INSTEAD of gagging gagging gagging he swallowed swallowed swallowed!!! Big night at the Creer household. HUGE.

Go Tyler!
My cousin's little boy used to be the exact same way. He went to some occupational therapy that helped him deal with his "texture issues" and he is doing so much better.

I love those kinds of moments. Miles is a picky eater too.

This is a great post because the post is 150 words long but it only uses a combination of 20 different words.

Twenty awesome awesome awesome words.

Ty, don't eat anything green in life and you'll never go wrong.

Colton responds to veggies the same way as Tyler did. You give me hope!

Amy I do not judge another mother.... besides my girls will eat most vegetables and fruits, I mean they LOVE sushi(I know sushi is not a vegetable, it's just a food most kids wouldn't eat), crazy! But I hardly give them a vegetable option. Planning a vegetable each meal is a lot of work. Tyler would love our family.

Congrats! I can totally relate to the excitement of vegetables eaten. My daughter has the same aversion.

Have you heard of that one cook book where you literally hid the veggies in the foods. My friend does it and it works out great- she even puts them in brownies.
