classic Hailey Joey.

we have been working SO HARD on letters/sounds (YES I know she SHOULD know them by now.... but to be honest: she is more into the social scene than the learning scene. she could tell you the life history of each of her classmates. and their parents/siblings names. and what each of them ate for breakfast. you get the point.)

so anyway ... this is what she told me this morning when she was having a hard time remembering "E/e"...

"MY BRAIN IS TAKING A HOT TUB."

Hailey and my Kate (5) would totally get along. Kate is very social as well. And I find it frustrating that she still hasn't learned the days of the week (the order). She just doesn't think it is important unless she needs to remember what day her friends can play.

SO funny! I love when they hit their "over it" stage and they can't take one more minute of things.

By the way -- do you have the Leap Frog DVD called "Letter Factory?" If Hailey likes watching movies, this is the greatest ever. I was trying and trying and trying with Brett and he was so bored with learning his letters and sounds. After we got the DVD, I think he knew all the letters and sounds within 3 or 4 times of watching it. Just an idea.

too funny ... and i'm with your friend who suggests the learning factory. it's GREAT. even my little 2 year old sings the songs and the sounds ... :) it's learning without them knowing it! :)

She is hilarious. When I help in their class, she is a little chatter box to me. She tells me tons of stories while she is coloring away. I know all your secrets now. ;)

I love her attitude and the way she says things. It's very uniquely JOEY. Though she hates me often... and makes barf noises in the phone at me... hahah.
