Handprints in the carpet... cheerios in my bed.

Strange title, huh? Let me explain. There are some funny little things going on in this house; consistently funny stuff!!! Some of them are annoying, some not so much... more comical. For example... every morning before work, my cute hubby (Andy-roo) does a little workout routine in the basement. Every morning he must do his push-ups in the EXACT same spot because there are two definite Andy handprints in the carpet downstairs. For some reason, it is hilarious to me. I wish there were Amy handprints down there too. Someday maybe ... or maybe not. You see -- I avoid the basement at all cost. Oh and pushups too. Another funny (more on the annoying side of things) is the fact that EVERY night when Andy and I get into bed, there are a few cheerios scattered around in the sheets. Every morning our darling little girl insists on her juice sippy and dry cheerios in our bed while watching her little show. And even though every day she promises that she "won't spill AT ALL" in mommy's and daddy's bed, there are ALWAYS little cheerios tucked here and there. Even though it gets on my nerves a tiny bit I know there will be someday when I wish there were hidden cheerios in my bed. At least I try to convince myself that this will be the case. :)

I always leave the cupboards open in the kitchen. Half because I am lazy and I know sometime in the next few days I will need to get back into that cupboard, and half because I know it gets under Daisy's skin.

So after she gets done yelling at me for leaving the cupboard open again I always tell her this story:

"Someday Daisy, I am going to die, it might be tomorrow, it might be in 50 years. But you are going to come home from the funeral all dressed in black with one of those veils on and you are going to walk into the kitchen and you are going to see one of the cupboard doors open and you will break down and cry on the floor on your knees in grief. Then you will raise your hands in the air and say "Why?", "Why can't he just leave the cupboard door open one more time?"

So then after I am done saying all that I just walk out of the kitchen off scott free.

Your kids are doing that to you Amy with the Cheerios. And the genious is they are doing it without even knowing it or saying a word.

Thanks for the laugh! I really needed it today. Also, the reminder that one day, I too, will miss the fingerprints, star war toys in my tub, and the dirty boy smell.......................ahh (dreaming)....some day!

Really Funny Amy! For you it is your children...for me it is my husband.

Interesting take, Shayne. You've used that sob story a lot, I've noticed--like when you ask me to turn the light off at night..even when you are the last one to get into bed OR when you jab me with your freakishly long and dagger-like toe nails when you want to warm your feet up OR when you chew that dang bottled water cap so loudly that I want to see if I really would miss it...after your gone.
Ummmm...Did I mention how much I love you though?

Landon and I have crumbs in the bed all the time, but they are from me! I have a huge bowl of cereal every morning at 6 a.m. when he gets home from work and before I go back to bed with him. Baby Mylee needs to eat! Kix, Cheerios, Cocoa Puffs, you name it. Only 3 more months to go and she'll be here . . . then her crumbs will start coming into the bed all too soon . . . :-) I can't wait!
And you have the funniest friends ever!
