LemonLimeDesign

Ok. I apologize for being M.I.A. for a little while; but it has been for 2 WAY good reasons. PROMISE!!! First off, all my shows have ended these past two weeks. To summarize: Andy chose Tessa and I am glad. Apollo won and I am glad. Blake lost and I am sad. Susan and Mike got married and I am glad. Will Jim and Pam get together? It's quite exciting... And lastly -- what is going to happen on Grey's ... I have no idea... and it makes me mad. Now that the shows are over I realize I need something else to fill my now EMPTY evenings soooo (reason #2) --- I have been self-teaching myself how to use Photoshop... to make fun little baby announcements. It has been fun. So much fun. And I have come up with (what I think is...) some really cute stuff. I have been toying with the idea of opening a little internet business making photo cards (baby announcements, christmas cards, etc.) called... wait for it...

LemonLimeDesign

what do you think?

now if I could only teach myself how to create a website from scratch... that'll be next month's project...

I LOVE IT! Perfect! I think that there might be a way to have your store on a blog website such as this. Maybe not. Or, you could open up an ebay store. But that's not too fitting. If you figure it out let me know so I can open my scrapbooking one. Or we could join them and make MILLIONS.

PS-Andy chose Tessa and I am still MAD.

Sounds exciting. You can always sell hand-made type stuff on ESTY (www.esty.com).

Too bad we don't need another baby announcement in our future.

you never know Daisy... you never know... ;-)

I will check out esty.com

I kind of get sick to my stomach thinking about how creative you are and that you actually have time on your hands...I think it is a great idea and am jealous that you are so creative and innovative with your thinking. Cute, Cute name.

Hi girls...this is my first time doing this, so bear with me! Love the name LemonLime, Ame. Really cute. Will you do my baby announcements? Maybe we could make one for Cal, too, and pretend I did that when he was born:)
Cathy

PS Do I have to sign up for something new now, so that I am not always the anonymous one?

Woops, I noticed a spelling error that drove me crazy so I had to erase my post and start again. Here goes...

I love the name.

Dreamweaver is actually pretty user friendly (if you can figure out Photoshop you can figure out Dreamweaver)- I use it at work all the time to design my websites.

Pam and Jim better get together or someone WILL get hurt.

I'm glad Jordin won.

And I was also happy Apollo won (except I really didn't like his partner).

I hate to deliver bad news but it looks like the name LemonLimeDesign is already taken. :(

:(

it's taken on etsy.com

... but does that mean that I can't do LemonLimeDesign.com???

:(

back to the drawing board I guess...

p.s. HI CATHY!!!!! :) I am not sure how you become "unanonymous" ... I will look into it

Cathy---yah!

To become unanonymous just click on the Other (when choosing an identity) and then just type in whatever you want: Cathy, sexy mama, mother of 2 (almost), whatever.

It doesn't look like anyone has purchased www.lemonlimedesign.com! I only found it listed on ESTY.

interesting!

so maybe I will have to purchase LemonLimeDesign.com

how much does it cost to buy a .com?

Megan said...

Beware, I'm a wannabe computer geek and you've unleashed a monster... :)

How much does it cost to own a .com? It depends. You'll need someone to "host" your site. They provide server support and a variety of other "stuff"; including the ability to own a domain name (www.lemonlimedesign.com). This is a link to Office Live's web hosting service:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/officelive/default.aspx

It's free and it's easy to design a website with if you don't know html. However, it's also very limited because you can't use html even if you wanted to- which means your website can't grow as you learn more about web design.

Yahoo also hosts web sites, here's their price sheet:

http://smallbusiness.yahoo.com/webhosting/compare.php#close

There are lots of other web hosting companies out there.

(Sorry, I really like this stuff and sometimes get carried away...)

Yeah, Meg, you did. Haha! Just kidding. I remember us talking about creating me a website. That never happened. Maybe Amy will be motivated enough to do it for me too.

Thanks guys, thanks.

Hey there! I think your designs are way cute and you could totally do it! When I have kids you're hired! I think if you go to Typepad.com you have to pay for a blog but it's a little bit more extensive for a website... plus you know someone in the payment processing buisness to help ya in that area :)
